While I’ll never be at peace with how the media demonizes the Tea Party movement as “Radical Right Wing Extremists”, I do understand clearly that they feel it to be a major threat to their message and agenda and thus feels the need to publicly brush it off as a handful of crazy racists who are completely irrelevant to the conversation. What baffles me more than the media’s lame portrayal is that I actually know people who freely identify themselves as Conservatives yet have bought into this lie, and therefore refuse to be apart of this movement in anyway. These are people that should just know better!
We know for a fact that if the Mainstream Media responds to the Conservative agenda, you can safely bet your firstborn that the opposite is true. So, why do many Republicans continue to buy into anything that the MSM touts as truth, especially when it comes to telling us how we should feel about anyone or anything having to do with our party, our platform and our principles? That’s like asking Osama Bin Laden to map out our military strategy for us. You know what the outcome is going to be before you even ask!
We let the media pick our presidential candidate with John McCain and look how well that turned out. The mainstream media picks and chooses what they cover concerning our agenda, what sound bites they deliver on a nightly basis, then continue to force feed their liberal ideology to the handful of Americans who actually still tune in, while giving blatantly unfair treatment to the other side.
These Conservatives know better than to believe most of the lies spouted on CNN, MSNBC and their other partners. Nevertheless, I’ve noticed with several issues, the Tea Party movement being one, that as soon as it gains enough negative coverage and these so-called Conservatives mingle with their liberal, progressive or weak kneed Republican friends and listen to them touting the media’s party lines, these Conservative retreat and join the enemy so as not to feel foolish for buying into all the right wing propaganda, when just the opposite is actually true. It’s always easier to join the momentarily popular stance instead of arming yourself with the facts, standing up and discussing the real facts.
I’m thinking some of these people need to actually attend a Tea Party for themselves instead of getting lost in the tidal wave of disparaging remarks. While there are always going to be a few wack jobs in every group, religion, denomination and movement- they do not ever represent the whole. But the media has an agenda and to further it they must dig and dig until they come up with a sound bite that helps support their lie. However, I’ve been apart of these meetings and observing from the back of the room, I can tell you that, despite the media’s outright untruths, I have seen every color, every race, people from every financial class, every religion, blue collar, white collar and EVEN every political party represented within.
Remember, historically, we have never been the party of “protesters.” The liberals hold that title proudly and whether it is for a threatened tree, a dying whale, an endangered mosquito, the right to kill their children, slapping a terrorist, or protesting against someone who used too much toilet paper or left their sprinklers on too long, they never miss an opportunity to grab a sign and shut pertinent roadways down. We’ve listened and watched their obnoxious behavior as they have marched the streets, thrown paint on people for daring to wear fur, partaken in publicly disgusting behavior to prove their points, and burned our country’s flag for decades and decades. We’ve supported their rights to free speech even while we abhor what they are saying.
Yet, the self-titled party of “tolerance” can’t seem to be tolerant of the other side’s voice. They’ve berated Tea Partiers, egged their buses, called them Racists and sent in their Union thugs to break bones and split skin. They’ve lied over and over again and have gone so far as to make up scenarios that, time and time again, are refuted because the truth has revealed itself through video or audio tape. The liberal talking heads who are supposed to be reporting the news embrace their behavior and jump in on the action themselves by doing their own vile name calling. Yes, way to keep it classy, Anderson Cooper. Your pet name is well known and I won’t give it credit by repeating it, although one must wonder how you became so familiar with the term?
An interesting statistic was released the other day that completely refutes everything the media has taught you to believe. 48% of those involved in the Tea Party are actually Independents and another 8% are Democrats! Hardly does that sound like the picture the MSM and the White House has tried so hard to portray that this is just a “fringe movement” made of crazy Right Wing Republicans.
Other recent studies show that while the Tea Party people are all united on the reckless, irresponsible spending and corruption that is currently happening in our government, they are all very split about other issues, mainly on the social scale but definitely not limited to it.
However, they are putting aside their differences and uniting under the common ground that our government is financially ruining our country and that if we don’t reign in their out-of-control behavior and spending addictions, our children and grandchildren will only know what America once was by the stories that we are able to tell them. These people are getting off their couches, getting out of their homes, making their voices heard, and empowering others to do the same. These are the people that I RESPECT. These Patriots are carrying the water for the others who are afraid of what other people might think, or for those who tell themselves it wouldn’t make a difference even if they did get involved.
We are seeing normal, average people who have never been activists, now leading the charge for REAL change and that is what makes this so incredibly special. In addition, Anderson Cooper, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC, every time you open your mouth and we hear your liberal shrieks, the movement grows even larger!! That being said, have at it!
