Update: Democrats Stop Bid to Send 6000 Troops to Border, while Texas being warned to look out for terrorists.
The Department of Homeland Security has issued a warning to Texas authorities to be on the lookout for terrorists trying to sneak in through the Mexico border.
The DHS warning follows an indictment of a Somali man accused of running a smuggling ring bringing in hundreds of Somalis all the way from South America up through Mexico and into the U.S.
This news follows reports that the Obama Administration has ignored pleas from Texas to send more National Guard troops to help secure the border. National Guard troops have been sent to other areas of the border, reportedly not to enforce immigration, but to stem the flow of weapons and drug traffic.
Does that mean that troops will confiscate weapons and drugs from illegals, then let them go? Is our government so unwilling to secure the border that we are willing to wait until a terrorist sneaks across the border and succeeds in another major terrorist attack?
