A federal judge in New Orleans blocked the six month ban on new deepwater drilling that was imposed by the Obama Administration.
Breitbart is reporting that U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman overturned the moratorium after complaints from several business that were adversely affected. Breitbart continues, stating:
Feldman says in his ruling that the Interior Department failed to provide adequate reasoning for the moratorium. He says it seems to assume that because one rig failed, all companies and rigs doing deepwater drilling pose an imminent danger.
This decision has been anticipated by many who viewed the law as a rash decision without just cause. Reuters is reporting that the White House will appeal the court decision.
