American Viewers Punish Mainstream Media!

by Brittany Pounders on July 2, 2010

The majority of Americans aren’t nearly as stupid as the mainstream media thinks we are.  I say “majority” because there is clearly a large group minority who really are…stupid, that is.  There are, trust me, I know a few that fall into that category personally.

For decades we’ve seen through the mainstream media’s attempts to manipulate data, ignore huge stories that would have major impacts on elections and public opinions, crucify conservatives at each opportunity, and sneer in disgust at anyone who doesn’t wear a flaming L on their back.  I remember hearing about the “biased media” when I was little girl and now twenty years later, biased doesn’t even begin to describe what these organizations have evolved into.  Every mainstream news channel might as well have a “paid for by the Democratic Party and we approve this message” ad at the end of every show.

I can only laugh when a liberal, in response to any policy argument, can only stutter and huff and come back with, “Oh, where did you get your statistics from??  FOX NEWS?!?!”  As if Fox could even be put in the same category of bias as the rest of the media.  Liberals love to call FOX News biased because Fox will actually put two opposing opinions and point of views against each other.  The closest CNN can come to that is finding a moderate to put against a liberal, but that’s no fun to watch because we all know moderates roll over onto their back to have their tummies scratched by anyone as often as possible.  They don’t have any true convictions and they are easy to slay in any policy debate.  Which is the reason that Fox News’ 3am lineup beat out CNN’s primetime viewing and why all the mainstream channels combined can’t beat them!!!  People want the news straight and they want to be able to come to conclusions on their opinions on their own.

Newsbusters reported on MSNBC’s coverage of the Kagan hearings in a perfect example of modern day news bias.  They wrote:

A liberal panel led by MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews injected sexism into the Kagan confirmation hearings on Tuesday morning, suggesting that Republican senators should curtail the tenacity of their questioning because the Supreme Court nominee happens to be a woman.

He goes on:

Despite the absence of a sexual scandal, Matthews persisted with the bizarre analogy: “Are we past the sensitivity about a male member of the Senate grilling a female?”

The “Hardball” host failed to clarify exactly who in 2010 is sensitive about male senators posing tough but legitimate questions to a woman nominated to the nation’s highest court.

These people don’t even bother to hide their intentions anymore.  They might as well show up to work with t-shirts that say “I Heart Obama.”

New York Times journalists Sheryl Gay Stolberg does her own “reporting” on the Kagan hearings:

Kagan is so “brilliant,” gushed Stolberg, that she didn’t even need help from White House staffers in preparing to face her Republican critics. Stolberg was confident the GOP would “have a tough time” confronting the “very funny and warm and witty” Kagan.

“They will try to paint her as a partisan, as a political lawyer, as someone who is more interested in a politically driven agenda than in applying the law in an even-handed way to judicial cases.   And they’ll take her to task for never having been a judge.   But I think they’ll have a tough time.”

Given this, and the fact that America has, for the most part, awakened to the bias and chosen other avenues for their information it was not surprising to see announced today that the Broadcast Nightly News has lost more than one million viewers in just the last 12 months.  In fact, all four main news channels were considerably down, but I have to admit to a particular satisfaction that Katie Couric was the worst, losing over 340,000 viewers.

The evening news has also been hit extremely hard and just had their lowest averages ever over the last three months!

The majority of viewers are abandoning the MSM and finding more reputable sources via a fair and balanced channel and many internet avenues.  When the National Enquirer becomes the go-to source for legitimate huge breaking stories on liberal politicians, you know we have a problem.  Eventually they’ll have to just change the names to Government Channel 1, Government Channel 2, Government Channel 3…..
