We brought the news to you last week that Bell, California (one of the poorest municipalities in California) with a population of 38,000 residents was paying their City Manager $800,000.00 a year. To make it even worse, their Police Chief almost $500,000.00 and their PART time city officials $100,000.00 a year.
Now, that the residents of Bell know they are furious! City Manager, Robert Rizzo, has already resigned- as well as some other city officials. But, the residents say that is not enough! Among many other things these residents have to say one man says, “For all intent and purposes, the city of Bell has one of the highest tax rates in the county. I believe it is 1.57% of your assessed value. I believe that is even higher than Beverly Hills!”
