I would say that the least of Dennis Kucinich’s problems is a chipped tooth, but obviously he disagrees as he has filed suit for $150,000 over an olive pit that damaged said tooth. Via The Blaze:
Kucinich is reportedly suing Restaurant Associates, the operator of the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria, as well as its parent company and food suppliers. According to the congressman’s complaint, he “sustained serious and permanent dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures, and has sustained other damages as well, including significant pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment.”
In addition to four counts of negligence, the former presidential contender’s $150,000 claim alleges breach of implied warranty after the cafeteria told him the sandwiches contained pitted olives.
The alleged olive incident is said to have occurred on April 17, 2008.
The Ohio representative is taking his negligence claim to Superior Court and has retained the legal services of Andrew Young, an attorney from Ohio. When asked for comment, Kucinich’s office directed all inquiries to Young who was not immediately available for comment.
Admittedly, the “loss of enjoyment” part caused a small burst of laughter to escape from between my lips -because if that’s the new criteria for a lawsuit- I say that the country owes one against Kucinich. He’s caused plenty of us significant pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment!
