To the Democrat Senator Frank Lautenberg from New Jersey tea partiers “don’t deserve the freedoms in the Constitution.”
But what do you really expect from a liberal member of Congress at a Planned Parenthood rally?
… The Republicans in Congress claim they’re concerned about the budget balance, but it’s a disguise! It’s not true! It’s a lie! That’s not what they want. They want — they want other people not to be able to have their own opinions. They don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution! But we’ll give it to them anyway.
Lautenberg’s comments are pretty silly at best. He suggested that the government is going to give a group of Americans (tea partiers) Constitutional rights (which are inalienable) even though Republicans want to outlaw opinion. Lautenberg may believe that the government has the power to pick rights for certain Americans as necessary, but he seems to be a little confused about how the Constitution specifically forbids that. Also, the Senator is literally criticizing Republicans for doing something that he believes government has the power to do, but he does not plan on exercising that assumed governmental power.
Would anyone like to send Senator Lautenberg a pocket Constitution and highlight the areas that he seems to have forgotten?
