It’s a sad day for America when liberal judges are making decisions based on what the ACLU might or might not do, and God bless this woman for standing up for what’s right even in the face of what could be terrible consequences! Via FOX News:
TX Court Clerk Natalie Nichols could face a grand jury after she took a public stand for prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
After a judge physically crossed out the prayer and Pledge in a writeup of monthly meeting minutes, Nichols demanded answers.
The judge – Judge Sterling Lacy – told Nichols that the courts “purposefully do not place items such as the pledge and/or invocation on the Agenda and purposefully perform them before calling the meeting to order for fear of being ‘sued by an agency such as the ACLU’ and do not want to give the impression that it is the court’s official stance.”
Nichols said she confronted the judge on this … and that’s when things turned ugly. Hear why she could face jail time, and let us know what you think about this shocking story.
The Blaze has some more details on this:
Ms. Nichols alleges that Judge Sterling Lacy physically crossed through and x-ed out the pledge and prayer in the official record of the minutes, and then lied about doing it. Apparently, the judge was afraid of possible lawsuits, and wanted all the participants in the meeting to pretend that no prayer or pledge was recited…
Nichols, however, does not seem the least bit deterred by the prospect of criminal charges.
“If I need to go to jail for standing up this country and for God, I will do so,” she told Fox News in an interview Monday morning. “A lot of people bled and died for this country, I’m risking a little bit of jail time. I’m okay with that.”
Shame on this judge! If you would like to contact the offices of Judge Lacy here is the contact info:
