‘Let’s Move’ Director Coldly Dismisses 7 Yr Old Begging For Better School Lunches

‘Let’s Move’ Director Coldly Dismisses 7 Yr Old Begging For Better School Lunches Image

Kids all over the country, including mine who are in middle school and elementary, are constantly gagging at what Michelle Obama (who is by the way and unelected official) has done to our lunch rooms.  Kids are leaving the cafeterias hungry– not only because there isn’t enough to fill them up- but because the only options are absolutely disgusting.  We’ve all seen the pictures that kids have posted of their lunches that have gone viral.

School participation in lunches has gone down by 1 million students— of which my kids are a part of that number.  They refuse to buy the garbage offered to them and after visiting during lunch many times, I can see why.  They look revolting!

6Of course, this in contrast to the DC elites, who passed all of this legislation through the heavy hand of Michelle Obama.  A mother who doesn’t have to subject her children to the food she forces on the rest of us as the private school that her children attend have lunch menus designed by chefs.  Today for example, The Obama girls who attend Sidwell has this selection to choose from for their lunch:

Creamy Asparagus Soup
Italian Tofu Salad
Tuscan Kale Caesar Salad
Baked Meat Ziti
Eggplant Parmesan
with Fresh Marinara Sauce
Roasted Brussels Sprouts

All of which I stand by their right to eat.  And I stand by their right to encourage healthier eating participation.  My problem is when they turn around and dictate what our children are allowed to consume and they spend hundreds of millions of our dollars to do it.  It’s the Nanny state gone wild where the rest of us are too stupid to make the right decision or to think for ourselves.

But one little boy has had enough!

Richard “Trip” Klibert, 7, of LaPlace became pretty upset last November when he began noticing changes in his lunch at St. Joan of Arc School in LaPlace. His main complaint was about the new wheat tortillas and pizza crust. His taco shell and pizza just weren’t as tasty anymore…

Dear Mrs. Obama,

Thank you for trying to make my school lunch better, but you have ruined Taco Tuesday. Please bring back the old taco shell. I miss them. Also, the pizza is terrible. If you would like to try the new tacos, I will buy you lunch.

Thank you,

Trip Klibert

What did he get in return for writing the First Lady.?  Why, exactly what any narcissist would send a little boy making a request for edible food… an autographed Obama family picture that included a letter of why he needs to “shut up and eat”– all couched in politically correct terminology of course.  9

Furthermore, he’s even prompted a response by the director of “Let’s Move,” Deb Eschmeyer.

Asked about the “whole wheat taco” story, she responded, “I really don’t let that faze me because I have been doing this on the ground for so long,” according to Yahoo Food.

“And a lot of times it’s easier to profile a fight, that’s a sexier story, when actually the food service infrastructure is trying really hard to meet the standards, and 90 percent of the schools have met the standards.”

Let me be clear, nobody is quibbling about having healthier food choices.  The problem is, it’s never enough for liberals to begin by gathering support for these things on a local or state level– it always becomes a mandate and when the federal government mandates anything you can be sure it will lead to nonsensical and complicated rules.

The new standards are exhaustive, including calorie ranges for each age group, sodium limits, zero tolerance for trans fats, and specific ounce amounts for meats and grains.

Portion requirements and calorie limits are also in conflict, leading some SFAs to add unhealthy food such as pudding or potato chips to the menu, and serve odd food combinations in order to meet the rules.

“For example, one SFA served saltine crackers and croutons with certain salads to meet the minimum daily grain requirement and a cheese stick with shrimp to meet the minimum daily meat requirement,” the GAO said.

8School officials go on to note that it will be almost impossible to serve food that is palatable due to the unreasonable sodium regulations.

Like every other thing that the Obama’s have touched, the school lunches are also an absolute failure.  And more parents than ever before are agreeing that they, along with their local school districts, can put together better and healthier alternatives without any federal government coercion.

But on the flip side, it has turned young thinkers into blooming capitalists as they sell to their friends in the school’s underground black market.

Here are some other delicious and filling food options that are kids are being presented in schools- all thanks to Michelle Obama!

New Dietary guidelines that promote the global warming agenda are out for comment. The following is what they have to say. Notice how many time the use of the word “environmental” comes up in just a few sentences. They want to get rid of our children’s protein from meat to aid in their dumbing down of our society.

“The advisory committee said that that healthier diets — those heavier in fruits and vegetables and lower in animal proteins — were associated with “positive environmental outcomes,” which include reduced greenhouse gas emissions “and more favorable land, water, and energy use.”

The committee’s report also said that “sustainable dietary patterns can be achieved through a variety of approaches consistent” with the guidelines and so the government should “offer individuals many options and new opportunities to align with personal and population health and environmental values systems.”
